Trail Report 1/5/23 – The trails are in poor to very good condition things are thin east and south of Dunbar with a base of 2″-4″ as you get west of Dunbar there is significantly more snow with a base of 4″-8″. the 2″-4″ of new snow this week with a bit of sleet and rain made it very high density and it did not compact much with the groomer which is nice. Now for the not good news trails to the south of us are closed to all traffic with Iron Snowshoe even closing their road routes for ATV/UTV. If you plan to come up and ride ATV UTV you will only be able to ride between Goodman and Pembine on Corridor 16 everything else is closed to wheeled traffic. If you are planning to ride snowmobile I would recommend dropping in Dunbar and you can go north to Florence County you will have to go west to the trail head north of Shrine Road and take the trail past La Salle Falls, Devils Run on the east side is not completely open. To the west of Goodman towards Armstrong Creek the ditch will be a bit rough but 100 Mile Snow Safari has been grooming and have reported the new snow grooming up well. Sorry for long windedness here I just want to make certain all are informed as the citation for riding a closed trail is quite pricey.
